Dental Veneers

What are veneers?

Veneers are very thin shells of either composite resin or porcelain that are attached to the front of your natural teeth.

Veneers are a very durable method of treatment for teeth that are discoloured, worn, chipped, malformed, have spaces between them or are slightly misaligned, as well as those that have any combination of these problems.

How are porcelain veneers applied?

At your initial appointment, we will take a thin layer of enamel from the surface of the teeth to create space for the new veneers. Then we will take a mould to create your new custom veneers and place some temporary veneers to protect the treated surfaces. At your next appointment, we will glue your new veneers by a precise bonding process and you’ll walk out with your beautiful new smile!

If you have tooth decay or gum disease, these will need to be treated before you get veneers.

How are composite veneers applied?

Composite resin veneers can be done in one visit. We will choose a resin colour to match your natural tooth colour and then gently apply thin layers of the composite resin, hardening each layer with a bright light. Once all the layers are applied, we will shape and polish the tooth so that it looks natural and feels smooth.
